That's the message Jim Bisenius hammered home to hundreds of elementary students sitting on a Lakota school's gym floor in rare, rapt attention.
Almost every young hand – boys and girls alike – had gone up when the anti-bullying expert asked who among them had been bullied.

Town prepares to host dozens of tours, activities for annual October event
Norwich — The popular Walktober series of walking tours, talks and events encompasses 35 towns in eastern Connecticut and Massachusetts, but this year, the calendar of events requires two close-up maps of Norwich just to show the 39 walks and five special events in the Rose City.

As part of the year-long Connecticut at Work initiative by CT Humanities, southeastern CT is hostingThe Way We Worked, an exhibition created by the Smithsonian Institution that draws on the National Archives' rich photographic collections to document 150 years of changing work life in America. The free exhibition is on view at the Groton Public Library from Nov. 8 to Dec. 21.
The exhibition has been touring the state for a year, and the Groton location is the final stop in Connecticut. As part of Connecticut at Work, the Groton library, Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition and other historic and educational venues in the region will sponsor author talks, films, music, theater, art, community conversations, storytelling, local history and book discussions relating to work from September through December.
